A Message From the President
Hello Everyone. I know what you are thinking . . . here we go Marti is already letting things go to his head. Well that is not my intention. At the Chamber we are trying to do a lot of things differently and hopefully better. One thing we need to improve is communication with our members. We plan to have a monthly newsletter and until then you are stuck with me.
As many of you know, and maybe some of you do not, we are in the process of looking for a full time Chamber Director. You may have seen the ad in this past week’s Vilas County Review. This person will have a lot of responsibilities including a monthly newsletter. It is all coming together now, isn’t it? This person will be here for our businesses and for the town. They will attend county and some state meetings and keep us up to date on opportunities that we might otherwise miss. Believe me I could go on and on about what this persons responsibilities will be, but I won’t. If you want to know more you can contact me or attend our upcoming meeting on Dec. 1st.
We have two events coming up soon. One is the Santa Claus is Coming to Town event on Dec. 4th for the kids. If you would like to offer any help please contact Debbie Jo at the chamber by phone, 545-3800, or by email, phelpschamber@gmail.com. The other event is the 3rd Annual Phelps Cup Radar Run. This event has grown in popularity over the last couple of years and brings a lot of business to town. We need a lot of help with this event on many levels including ways that it can be improved. Please consider attending our meeting on Dec. 1st.
When I ask you to please attend our meeting, I don’t mean that this meeting belongs to the board. These meetings can affect all of the businesses and individuals in Phelps alike and you should not let any decisions be made for you. So please let your voice be heard and attend OUR meeting on December 1st at the Town Hall at 6pm.
